Welcome to the Columbus AFB Airman & Family Readiness Center! Our Mission is “To promote, educate and facilitate, readiness and resiliency for airmen and their families”. Our Team strives for excellence in customer service/support and our records show! Superb Key Spouse program! Columbus AFB has 200% over the required number of trained Key Spouses. Hosted 12 Hearts-Apart socials designed to hone deployed families coping skills and resiliency. Provided over $18,000 in educational services for retirees, spouses and family members. Distributed over $36,000 in Air Force Aid assistance and programs last year alone! All of this while still helping Airman and their families with Relocation, Family Readiness, Volunteering, Personnel Financial Readiness, Local Employment, Exceptional Family Member Program, Casualty Services/Survivor Benefits and Information and Referral! This course explains how to navigate your transition journey with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits and services, including: supporting yourself and your family, getting career ready, finding a place to live, maintaining your health, and connecting with your community.

|A workshop introducing arriving personnel and their family members to the key personnel and services located on the base. Mandatory voting assistance information is provided. Normally conducted once a month for military and civilian newcomers to the base.|

This spouse orientation program is designed for spouses new to the military or new to Columbus AFB. This is a great opportunity to increase knowledge of the Air Force mission, customs, traditions, protocols and available programs and services in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Workshop held at AFRC is mandatory for all personnel separating or retiring, Pre-separation counseling is required before attending. Seminars on: Transition, Military Occupational Code Crosswalk, Financial Planning, Health Benefits, MS Dept of Employment Security, Dept of Veterans Affairs, Disabled TAP, Dept of Labor TAP portion. Preseparation counseling is required before attending. Recommend attendance 8 – 12 months prior to separation/retirement. Spouses are encouraged to attend with their sponsor.
