Relocation Assistance Program

Stressed about moving? Our Relocation Assistance Program at Columbus AFB will assist you with information and education to ease the personal and family stressors military families experience with a permanent change of station (PCS). Serving over 500 each year, the Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) manager ensures members and/or families make informed decisions and preparations when relocating/moving. The most important thing you can do to ensure a smooth move is start planning early using the many programs, services and tools available.

Classes/Workshops

Wing Newcomers Orientation – Held approximately every three weeks at the Columbus Club/Event Center from 0800-1230 for newly arrived Active Duty and civilian personnel. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend.

Smooth Move Workshop – Held once a month, the Smooth Move Workshop provides members/families with valuable information prior to relocating. Learn what to expect before you move with information from Transportation Management Office (TMO), Housing, Military Pay, Lodging, Tricare, medical records and Airman & Family Readiness Center.

Sponsorship Training – Unit Sponsor Leaders, first-time sponsors and those who have not been trained as a sponsor during the past year must complete sponsorship training online at Sponsorship Training.  Newly assigned Unit Sponsor Leaders receive additional training from RAP manager to prepare them for their sponsor appointment duties.
