Columbus AFB Hunting
Commercial: (662) 434-2505
There are many hunting recreation opportunities both on and around Columbus Air Force Base to include hunting for deer, ducks, turkey and more. Hunting on base in certain areas is legal by contacting Outdoor Recreation and purchasing an on-base hunting permit. Outdoor Recreation will provide you with a map and appropriate on-base hunting procedures. You must already have a Mississippi hunting license to purchase a permit. You can obtain a hunters license by attending a hunter’s safety course (if you have not already taken one) and purchasing it at any large outlet store. Ensure you bring a copy of your orders and save around $300. To schedule a hunters safety course, click here.
The hunting seasons on base mirror the State of Mississippi’s with a few exceptions. There is no dove hunting on base, and the use of dogs during hunting is prohibited.
*Please always consult the Outdoor Recreation office for on-base hunting or the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks for off-base before hunting.
Please visit the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks website for more information.
